Have an Attractive and Functional Smile — With Dental Implants!

At Hart Dental, we are pleased to offer dental implants to our patients who have experienced tooth loss. While other replacement options are effective for some, dental implants mimic the look and function of natural teeth.

The Many Benefits

Implants are small metal posts that are surgically placed beneath the gumline; once the surgery site has healed, the implant acts as a replacement “root” for a prosthetic tooth. Each implant and tooth are individually created and placed, giving you a beautiful, stable, and long-lasting smile. Implants are ideal for any type of tooth loss, from a single tooth to an entire mouth; they can also be used with implant supported dentures. The benefits don’t end there; others include

  • Give you the freedom to eat what you want; no matter how crunchy or chewy the food, the world is your buffet
  • Do not require any special cleaning solutions or regimens; simply brush and floss as usual
  • Allow you to speak without fear of being misunderstood; no more slurring, mumbling, or clicking noises when you talk with your loved ones
  • Restore or even enhance your smile; the color and shape of your prosthetic will be customized to your desired look
  • Restore your self-confidence; no more dodging photos or turning down social opportunities. You’ll be overjoyed to share your new smile with the world!

What are implant-supported dentures?

If you are looking for a stable, lasting solution for replacing multiple missing teeth, our dentists may recommend implant-supported dentures. Implant-retained dentures are very similar in form to traditional dentures, however, they are stabilized by dental implants. Very often, denture wearers complain that dentures become loose and “float” around the mouth, limiting their ability to eat and speak comfortably. Implant dentures are a cost-effective solution, and in many cases, we can actually retrofit an existing denture with implants.

The first step in anchoring your denture with dental implants is the placement of the implants. The dental implants, which are similar in appearance to screws, are surgically inserted into the jawbone in order to securely anchor your denture. While the specific number of implants required will depend on your individual needs, most cases require four to six dental implants per denture. Once the implants have been placed and allowed sufficient healing time, your denture is attached on top. This provides your denture with exceptional stability. In fact, many patients report that their implant-retained dentures feel and function more like their natural teeth.
